“Family Tree” is an abstract slice of a cut down tree, symbolizing death. The black tree branches suggest death by fire, however, the harsh contrast of black and white creates a visual vibration that hints at life. Small branches transitioning to larger ones implies growth. Wiggly shapes whisper of both life and growth. All of these aspects show the unending rejuvenation of nature. The changing light patterns reflect the passage of time, life-giving sunlight and healing moonlight. Watch the shadows on the Family Tree base as they shift like the seasons.
