LAYERS IN THE BOXES
Early on I started dividing up the horizontal spaces in boxes to create a view of the earth. The top stained glass panel represents the sky. The space under it is like the way children in their early drawings don’t connect the sky and the ground. Sometimes things magically appear there. Then there is usually a ground layer, often with surreal animals or objects on it. Below the ground there is the subterranean area that references the things that could be found below ground or in a past time era. I am intrigued by archeology and anthropology, but my undisciplined knowledge usually leads to surreal expressions.
