Louder Than Bombs
This song is hard to summarize but I’ll say it talks about the pain of others. How pain and darkness are universal and, when you open your sights to those around you, you’ll know they have their own battles. People hide their struggles from others, whether it be loved ones or otherwise, there are various reasons we do so. For loved ones, it’s generally because you don’t want to hurt them. You want to bring happiness to them, so you’ll hide the unsavory. And when you recognize when someone has been doing that for you, it can hit you hard - louder than bombs.
That’s been how I’ve viewed things for basically my entire life. As far as I can remember, I was always trying to understand others. I didn't want to step where I shouldn’t and cause them pain in any way. As I grew, that became more concrete in my understanding that everyone has their own lives outside of our sight. I automatically check myself if I’m thinking too singularly about someone. I don’t think I’ve ever been truly, heatedly mad at someone I know for this reason. If I feel myself getting mad, I reel myself back in simply by the knowledge of my limited view of the other.
The song goes on to be persevering. Yes, this is how life is and the struggles of others and our own will constantly intertwine, but we should keep pushing forward. Helping others as we go.
